    The gnomes at the lake do have something in mind—but what? The first week, they traveled by boat, then they wandered across the ice lake, and now they have started constructing something. We’ll see where this story goes!

    Quality of Life changes

    Updated time of day

    In v2.01, the time was locked to night to enhance the winter atmosphere. However, this made visibility difficult, and the overall brightness was too low.

    In v2.10, we have changed the time to permanent daylight, allowing you to navigate easily and ensuring you don’t miss any hidden secrets!

    Lumen support

    Island Zero now supports Lumen! Lumen global illumination makes lighting more realistic (in most cases), and with Christmas around the corner, it adds a festive touch to virtual environments, enhancing the overall visual experience.

    Removed Landmark HUD pop-ups

    To make it easier to avoid confusion about what is and what is not a landmark (or POI), we have removed the HUD pop-up when it comes to landmarks. From now on, you’ll only get notified when entering a POI.

    Updated Minimap

    The minimap has been updated from using an auto-generated image to improve quality of the map.

    Loot Chests are back!

    We’ve heard your feedback! We’ve replaced all Military Loot Boxes with Loot Chests on the map. This change ensures a more player-friendly experience, making loot much easier to find. Thanks to the distinct audio and visual effects assigned to every Loot Chest, no players will be able to miss where to search for loot!

    Weapons & Items

    Introducing the Snowball Launcher and The Big Chill! These snowball launchers will send snowball soaring through the air spreading chilly mischeif to opponents! While the Snowball Launcher do regular damage, The Big Chill will instead give the opponent a sliding surprise!

    Other holiday-exclusive items are also here! Find the newly added Icy Grappler that gives you an icy experience, Chiller Grenades – that does the same, and hide as a Snowman using the Sneaky Snowman consumable!

    Balance changes

    In this version, we have reduced the chances of receiving snipers and explosive weapons, as well as stabilized how rare different rarities are. For example, there’s now a ~5% chance of recieving a Legendary weapon from a chest (previously ~10%).

    Bug fixes

    • Fixed an issue making the minimap undisplayable.
    • Fixed an issue where the Military Loot Crates at The Coastal Rentals didn’t grant loot (these have also been replaced by Loot Chests)
    • Fixed an issue where the “Welcome to <POI>”-pop-up was shown to every player in the game (it now correctly displays to only the player who’s entering the POI/landmark).

    Welcome to Chapter 2 of Island Zero!

    Drop onto a brand new island containing both new and familiar locations. In Chapter 2, many weapons have returned from the vault, but unfortunately, some weapons also have to be vaulted as others are unvaulted.

    New island and new locations!

    With Chapter 2 a brand new island has emerged. With a new island comes new locations, and some old ones have returned!

    Below are just some of the new POIs!

    The Outpost – The not so secret military base located on a mountain!
    Rustic Remnants – The scrapyard where you can find absolutely everything!
    Splendid Streets – A newly built city at the coast of the island. Offices, apartments, and over 4 stores can be found here!

    … and of course, POIs aren’t the only locations on the map! There are also landmarks, and some may be a little familiar if you’ve been playing previous seasons of Island ZERO!

    The Inbetween Depot – It survived! Some parts of Island Zero Inbetween have crashed onto this newly formed island, although, that comes with a cost – These places have seen better days…
    The Coastal Rentals – These small and colorful houses are situated to the islands most western parts and are absolutely adorable! This place is also a great place to be at for when the sun sets at the evening!
    The Pier – A pier connected to Splendid Streets where food trucks dominate sales! This place may be considered a great spot to relax at, but be aware of the waves!

    With a new reality comes new weapons!

    Some old fan-favourites have returned from the vault – and some have stayed available!

    The Assault Rifle and the MK-Alpha Rifle are just some of the available ARs in Chapter 2!
    The good ol’ favourites! The Pump Shotgun and the Tactical Shotgun are both available in Chapter 2!
    Spray and pray! The Tactical Submachine Gun and the Burst Submachine Gun have both been unvaulted in Chapter 2!
    Hit a snipe shot followed by a rocket hit continued by a heavy bullet from a Hand Cannon – this golden trio of weapons is available in Chapter 2!

    • The Infinity Blade has been removed from the stage as it wasn’t supposed to be there.
    • The Egg Launcher has been added to the loot pool for the rest of the season because of an issue with last update preventing it from being available.

    Introducing the Egg Launcher – A brand new type of grenade launcher that shoots eggs at enemies!

    From now on players will only be able to find the most sought-after items and weapons from chests. This includes not only all weapons available in the Mythic and Exotic rarities, but also some of everyone’s favourite items such as the Airstrike and the Boom Box.

    This change will not only make for a more thrilling gameplay experience, but it will also help level the playing field and ensure that every player has an equal chance of winning.

    GENERAL

    What was once several islands has now become one. Merged Madness has continued with it’s merging and it has resulted in new opportunities for players as they navigate this new landscape. Players who build over to different places on the map no longer have to do it as often as the islands are now merged.

    WEAPONS & ITEMS

    There have also been changes regarding the rarity of weapons in the loot pool. This change have made it so players will encounter weapons of varying rarity more often, making for a more balanced and dynamic gameplay experience.

    THE STORM

    There have been major changes done to the storm in version 1.70. The storm is now approaching the island much quicker than before. This means that players will need to figure out new strategies when playing Island ZERO Inbetween.

    Merge with Madness with the Mighty Sword! – v1.60 Patch Notes

    The Zero Point has been behaving strangely lately, causing the island to shift and change. With this comes a new POI called Merged Madness!

    Merged Madness by itself isn’t a new POI, but because of the Zero Point, some of the floating islands in the surrounding area have merged and are now one large island by itself. Each floating island is featuring a different environment and structure from a different time and place. Some of the floating islands are coming from Reality 54, and some are from other realities.

    Also, The Mighty Sword has been vaulted due to the unpredictable behavior of the Zero Point. We understand that this decision may be disappointing to some players, as the Mighty Sword has been a popular and powerful weapon in the game. However, we believe that this change was necessary to maintain balance and fairness for players.

    We’re excited to see how players respond to this update and encourage everyone to explore Merged Madness and continue to enjoy the game’s exciting gameplay. As always, we welcome your feedback and suggestions as we continue to work on making Island Zero even better.

    Slurp! – v1.50 Patch Notes

    Love was in the air during the love-themed event that just ended! Spy Agent and Eva hope you enjoyed the special in-game features that were previously available.

    But the fun doesn’t stop there! Slurp has been added to Inbetween! This powerful liquid substance provides health and shield regeneration, which is important to have much of during a fight. Slurp Barrels can be found scattered around the island in different locations, and Eva has brought a Slurp bath to the temporary base – which, by the way, isn’t temporary anymore!

    Slurp Juice bottles are also a new addition, and they can be found in chests.

    Don’t hesitate, jump in and explore the island like never before with the power of Slurp Juice at your fingertips!

    Love is in the air! The new Valentine’s Day themed event has begun, and it’s brought a new weapon to the island!

    In celebration of Valentine’s Day, the Cupid’s Crossbow has been added to Inbetween. This special crossbow is themed with hearts, making it the perfect choice for players who want to show their love for the holiday.

    Added the Cupid’s Crossbow

    • The Cupid’s Crossbow can be found in it’s Epic rarity in chests scattered around the island.

    Added the Sword of Love

    • The Sword of Love has replaced the previous “Mighty Sword” that could be found on the northern part of the island.

    Slightly adjusted the rarity of getting the Common & Uncommon Pump Shotgun from chests.

    GENERAL INFORMATION

    Remember, the Cupid’s Crossbow will only stay in the loot pool during the event, and will get vaulted afterwards. The event takes place between February 11 and February 18.

    In addition to the new weapon, the island has been decorated with Valentine’s Day decorations, making it the perfect place to spread the love.
