  • Welcome to Chapter 2 Season 2: Beyond Future

Welcome to Chapter 2 Season 2: Beyond Future

Preface: This season was originally announced as Chapter 2 Season 3, but has been renamed to Chapter 2 Season 2 following the unavailability of the original season.

    GENERAL CHANGES

The future is here and many of the island’s buildings have been upgraded, transforming the island into a futuristic wonder. Now, the area is filled with high-tech spots that have completely reshaped its atmosphere:

    NEXUS NEST

Nexus Nest is a high-tech military outpost located on a mountain at the island’s center. Compared to The Outpost, its less upgraded predecessor from previous seasons, Nexus Nest is larger and features air vents scattered throughout the POI, allowing for easy escapes from enemies.

    SODA INCORPORATED

Soda Incorporated is the island’s premier laboratory, where you can discover new inventions and other cool innovations. From cutting-edge technology to unique products like Slap Juice, this company is at the forefront of scientific advancements on the island.

    DANT INDUSTRIES

The old depot has been transformed into a high-tech workspace, now home to Dant Industries’ offices and storage hall.

There’s of course more to discover in this new season, including new futuristic buildings around the island and a huge map expansion.

    VAULTS

A vault has been added in Nexus Nest containing a luxorous amount of chests and loot. You can enter the vault using the key card you get from eliminating the boss.

    Chests & Ammo Boxes

In season 2 the amount of available chests have been reduced drastically. This is due to the high cost of pumping away all the water that flooded the island in the previous season. Jokes aside, to complement the reduction in the number of chests, ammo crates have been added to give players more ammo.

    Battle Helicopter

Wohoo! New battle bus! The old bus have had it’s time to shine, but now it’s time for the real deal. The Battle Helicopter will serve! The new Battle Bus works almost identical to the Fortnite Battle Royale Battle Bus, but instead of being a bus it’s a helicopter.

We decided to make this change to the bus to improve the quality and simplification of playing the game. We felt it would be easier for new players to understand how to play the game properly.

    The Gnomes

The little creatures’ adventures continue! The construction is almost done now, and they seem to be building some sort of store? Or something? Honestly, not even I, who’s developing the map, know what they are building. Perhaps they’ll be done in the next update, and then we’ll hopefully find out!

  • The Chill Winter Continues in v2.10!

The Chill Winter Continues in v2.10!

    The Gnomes

The gnomes at the lake do have something in mind—but what? The first week, they traveled by boat, then they wandered across the ice lake, and now they have started constructing something. We’ll see where this story goes!

    Quality of Life changes

    Updated time of day

In v2.01, the time was locked to night to enhance the winter atmosphere. However, this made visibility difficult, and the overall brightness was too low.

In v2.10, we have changed the time to permanent daylight, allowing you to navigate easily and ensuring you don’t miss any hidden secrets!

    Lumen support

Island Zero now supports Lumen! Lumen global illumination makes lighting more realistic (in most cases), and with Christmas around the corner, it adds a festive touch to virtual environments, enhancing the overall visual experience.

    Removed Landmark HUD pop-ups

To make it easier to avoid confusion about what is and what is not a landmark (or POI), we have removed the HUD pop-up when it comes to landmarks. From now on, you’ll only get notified when entering a POI.

    Updated Minimap

The minimap has been updated from using an auto-generated image to improve quality of the map.
